We bought the Vitamix One after our previous blender broke beyond repair. We previously had the Magic Bullet and only used the pitcher attachment to make smoothies for the family. We wanted a larger pitcher and a more powerful blender. We also wanted a higher quality blender that would last more than a couple of years. A better quality product means it lasts longer, which means less waste in our landfills.
We were drawn to the Vitamix brand due to their positive reputation for having a high-quality product. Vitamix is the gold standard of blenders.
When looking through the various models, we decided the Vitamix One fit our needs perfectly. Unlike the other versions of the Vitamix, the Vitamix One cannot be used for making hot soups or blending grains or nuts. Since we don’t plan on making our own peanut butter anytime soon, we decided this was the blender for us. We were also drawn to the smaller footprint of the Vitamix One compared to their other blenders.
We use our Vitamix One for making smoothies and it does a great job! We are very impressed with this blender – definitely a huge step up from our previous setup.
We love how quickly and effortlessly it blends. The stick included with the blender (aka “temper”) makes the process even easier. Our previous blender did not have this, so we would have to stop the blender and stir with a spoon whenever it got stuck.
Our two biggest complaints are that it can’t be put in the dishwasher and it’s on the louder side.
However, cleaning it is a breeze. You simply add soap and hot water and then blend. If you’re concerned about the noise, then consider upgrading to a full-size Vitamix. Although we can’t attest to it, many reviews state that that full-size Vitamix blenders are quieter than the Vitamix One.
Since it just came out, we can’t prove how well and how long it will hold up. One thing that gives us some pause is that the warranty on the Vitamix One is much shorter than for their full-sized blenders. The warranty on the Vitamix One is only 2 years compared to the traditional 10 year warranty that comes with the other Vitamix blenders. However, we remain hopefully optimistic. We’re hopeful that the Vitamix One will follow suit with the other models offered by Vitamix in terms of the durability.
We analyze the ingredients and materials of any product we bring into our house. Our goal is to use non-toxic and environmentally friendly products whenever possible.
How does the Vitamix One stand up? Is the Vitamix One non-toxic?
The pitcher of the Vitamix One is plastic. However, since we’re not using boiling water, this does not concern us. We’re not concerned about the plastic leaching into our smoothies for the short amount of time we’re blending.
If having a plastic-free blender is important to you, then you’ll want to upgrade and get a full-size Vitamix and the stainless steel container (sold separately).
Vitamix used to be a “Made in America” brand. However, they have since outsourced some of the parts to China.
The bottom of our blender states”Engineered and assembled in the USA. An American company since 1921.”
Although 100% of the Vitamix blenders are not made in America, they are one of the few blenders brands you will find that are assembled here in America.
The Vitamix One retails for $239.99. This is definitely more expensive than the typical blender you’ll find in stores. But, you can still buy it from Target and use your Red Card to save some money!
However, we find the Vitamix One to be worth it.
The Vitamix One is an entry-level blender in the Vitamix brand portfolio- a brand known for their high-end, high-quality products.
As mentioned previously, we can’t confirm the longevity of this product since it just came out and we just got it. However, if we run into any issues, we will definitely update this article. We definitely plan to put this blender to good use and will likely use the Vitamix One multiple times a week (at least).
Fun Fact: Starbucks uses commercial Vitamix products in all their stores!
