Here’s our honest Hevea pacifier review! Hevea pacifiers are a brand of natural rubber pacifiers. We have 10+ fun facts about the Hevea pacifiers, plus our thoughts based on personal experience.

1. Made of 100% Natural Rubber
These pacifiers of made 100% from the sap of rubber trees. Natural rubber has no BPA, phthalates, or chemical softening agents.
2. One Solid Piece
The sap is molded into one solid piece. This means no cracks or crevices like most conventional pacifiers have. This makes them easier to clean and arguably more sanitary as a result.
3. Sustainably Made
Pacifier: The rubber tree is considered an eco-friendly and sustainable wood due to its fast growing nature. It takes about 5 years for the tree to reach maturity from a seed. The tree then produces rubber for about 20 years, when it is then harvested for wood.
Packaging: Packaging is FSC certified. The FSC trademark on paper is a guarantee that the paper (or timber) comes from a responsibly managed forest, which helps prevent deforestation and degradation.
4. Softer than Silicone
Natural rubber is naturally softer than silicone.
5. 3 Models, multiple sizes and multiple designs!
There are 3 models of the Hevea pacifier you have to choose from. All feature a butterfly shield. You can choose between a round, symmetrical or orthodontic nipple.
In order: Round, Symmetrical, Orthodontic
All models come in two sizes: 0-3 months and 3-36 months. In addition to these two sizes, the orthodontic pacifier comes in a larger size as well for ages 3-36 months (called “3-36 months large”).
One fun thing about these pacifiers is that the cut-outs of the pacifier shield come in different shapes. This is unique to the Hevea brand of natural rubber pacifiers. The shapes available are crowns, ducks, stars & moons, flowers and cars/UFOs.
In 2019, Hevea came out with colored pacifiers! They were the first maker of natural rubber pacifiers to do this and the dyes that are used are all FDA approved natural pigments.
6. Needs to be replaced frequently
At least more frequently than your traditional pacifier. It depends on use, but the guideline is to replace at least every 2 months. Signs the pacifier needs replaces is if it gets sticky to the touch. If it starts peeling, it needs replaced immediately.
7. Subscription Plan for Pacifiers
This is genius if you ask me. Hevea makes it easy to keep on top of replacing your pacifiers. They offer a “Care Plan” where you choose your pacifier type (round, orthodontic, or symmetrical) and quantity (4, 8 or 12), and they automatically send you new pacifiers every 2 months.
I reached out to the company and got clarification that the subscription plan is for size 3-36 month pacifiers.
8. Send in old pacifiers, get a discount!
Hevea has implemented an “Upcycle & Save” program. You send in old pacifiers, they upcycle them, and you get a discount. The discount is based on how many pacifers you send in. 8 pacifiers = 8% discount on your next purchase! More details can be found on their website.
9. Biodegradable
If you’re not too keen on the fact the Hevea pacifier has to be replaced frequently, keep in mind the reasoning behind it. The pacifier starts to break down after extended use because it is biodegradable. This means better for the environment!
Here’s a neat visual of a new Hevea pacifier compared to one that has been buried for a couple years:
10. Easy to grab handle
The Hevea pacifier features a large handle that is easy for little ones to grasp and hold.
11. Bonus fun fact: This recognizable pacifier has been seen with many celebrities including Tina Fey and Orlando Bloom! Orlando Bloom’s son, Flynn, has the cars/UFOs pacifier in case you were wondering!
