Nuna is a very popular Dutch brand of children’s equipment such as strollers, car seats and various other products. They are owned by Allison GmbH, the German company that also owns the well known brands Graco and Joie.
One of Nuna’s most popular products is the Nuna Rava car seat. The Rava is a convertible car seat that is well-loved for its design, safety, functionality and use of mindful materials. We love that the Nuna Rava is free from chemical flame retardants!

The one thing many parents consider when purchasing a car is if their current car seat is compatible with and will fit easily in their new car. In most cases, this is a make or break factor when deciding on the purchase, especially if the new car will be the family’s primary vehicle.
If you are considering getting a Tesla, testing the compatibility of your car seats may not be the easiest task. You can test drive the various Tesla models at most Tesla stores and see how your car seat fits, but for some, a Tesla store may not be conveniently located nearby.
For those parents with a Nuna Rava car seat, we can confidently declare that it does fit very well in ALL of Tesla’s current lineup of vehicles.
Because the Tesla Model 3 is currently the company’s smallest and least expensive product, we have decided to specifically focus on it since it is applicable to the largest number of people. With the Model 3 being relatively difficult for many to try out in person and it also being the one of the best selling premium sedans in the world, we felt the information and images in this article would be helpful.
The Tesla Model 3 has a large amount of interior space for the relatively small size of the vehicle. With 35.2 inches of rear seat leg room, it is more spacious back there than Audi’s Q3 crossover (31.1 inches)! Nearly 4 inches! Of course one of the factors one must consider when looking at rear seat legroom for car seat fitment is also how much legroom the front seat passenger has as well. In some cases a tall front seat passenger may have to squeeze into the front seat with their knees touching the glove compartment of a car with a car seat in the seat behind them and that may be a deal breaker also. Just because the car seat fits, a front passenger might not.
Front passenger leg room in the Model 3 is also quite good. The front seat has 42.7 inches of legroom. Compared to the all new (and larger this year) BMW 3 Series (42.0 inches), the Model 3 has .7 inches more space. With the Nuna Rava installed in the rear passenger side seat of the Tesla Model 3, the front seat passenger surprisingly still has ample legroom.
The images below show the front passenger seat in a comfortable position for a 6ft tall passenger with the Rava installed behind it. There are several inches between the back of the Nuna Rava and the front seatback.
If you are looking for a convertible car seat for your Tesla Model 3, the Nuna Rava is a great choice!
