Kids love dinosaurs, and for good reason. They’re fascinating creatures that have been capturing young minds for generations. Dinosaurs are arguably growing in popularity, possibly due to recent Jurassic Park films.
Fear not if you have a child obsessed with dinosaurs. In fact, it’s a good thing! Not only are dinosaurs fun and interesting, they’re educational. There’s a whole segment of science geared towards the study of dinosaurs - paleontology! So your child can have a blast playing with dinosaurs while learning STEM concepts at the same time.
There are tons of dinosaur toys on the market and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. We did the leg work for you and put together a list of the best dinosaur toys. We’ve got toys for every age group that any dino fan is sure to love.

Any dino-loving kid will find a way to use these dinosaur stickers. Playing with stickers is a great fine motor skill activity for toddlers. Older children could draw elaborate scenes then add the stickers to it. These are great for use at home or the road. These stickers would also make a great stocking stuffer or party bag favor at a dinosaur themed birthday party.

Holztiger is a European company that makes beautiful wooden animals, dinosaurs and people. Pictured is the Triceratops and Brontosaurus. Kids will undoubtedly come up with all sorts of creative and imaginative ways to play with these dinosaurs.
Holztiger makes all their wooden dinosaurs in Europe with hard maple or beechwood and non-toxic water-based paint and sealant.

These natural wooden dinosaurs are a bit smaller in size than the Holztiger ones, but are more budget-friendly. They are made of beech wood and the unpainted finish may be more appealing to some. These dinosaurs can be bought separately or as a set. Shown is the set, which includes the parasaurolophus, diplodocus, brontosaurus, tyrannosaurus and triceratops.

Lacing toys are a great toy for toddlers, as it helps develop skills like fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and concentration. Kids can dig up dinosaur bones with this dinosaur play set. This is made by one of our favorite toy brands, Plan Toys. They have a large fan base due in part to their sustainable practices. If you’re interested in this toy, don’t wait, as it has been discontinued by the manufacturer. As of the date of writing this article, there are a few left at the store in the link above.
These dinosaur blocks are fun and educational. The set comes with 9 blocks, each one featuring a dinosaur: T-Rex, Stegosaurus, Triceratops, Velociraptor, Brachiosaurus, Allosaurus, Spinosaurus, Dilophosaurus, and Pterodactyl. Each block has two carved sides featuring their name + skull and their footprint. On the remaining sides, there is an illustration, size, time period and geographic area. Kids will have fun building with these blocks, learning facts about the various dinos, even making footprints in play-dough! With this dinosaur bones kit, kids can build a 26-inch-long scale model of a T-Rex skeleton. The skeleton model is made of 20 plastic pieces that snap together easily and a plastic base on which the skeleton can be displayed on.
