The Tavo system itself consists of a pet stroller frame called the Roscoe, a pet carrier called the Maeve, and a base creatively named “Base”. The Roscoe pet stroller frame is designed for use only with the Maeve pet carrier. Being ultimately a Nuna product these two components operate in virtually the same way as a Nuna stroller frame and bassinett do. The pet carrier clips into the stroller frame essentially transforming the handheld carrier into a full on stroller. Anyone familiar with the world of baby strollers and car seats will be very familiar with the Tavo Pet Protection System setup. The TavoPet Protection System is basically a Nuna travel system but for pets.
The Tavo pet stroller and carrier are products of Nuna, a globally recognized brand primarily known for its top-tier baby gear. Nuna products like the Nuna Rava car seat and Nuna Mixx are among the most popular in the industry. Nuna also makes a stroller for children called the Tavo not to be confused with their sister brand Tavo that makes the pet strollers.

We have always treated our pets as family and they deserve the same high quality products and safety standards we have with our own Nuna products. Up until now pets have mostly had products like strollers and carriers that weren’t as well thought out as products like strollers, car seats, and bassinetts made for humans.
The current line of Tavo pet products can safely transport pets from tiny up to a maximum weight of 30 lbs. The only other size limitation is the pet must be able to fit into the Tavo Maeve pet carrier itself. The dimensions of the largest currently available Tavo Maeve pet carrier are L 30.6 x H 23.75 x W 18.4 in. Those Dimensions are for the “Medium Rigid” Tavo Maeve which comes in slightly larger than the “Medium Flex”.
The size difference between the two is around 2 inches in height and width. The length remains the same for both of the Tavo Maeve medium sizes.
The great thing about the Tavo Maeve pet carrier and Roscoe pet stroller is that they are designed to be versatile enough to be able to transport many types of pets. The fact that the Tavo Maeve can be fully enclosed and has a mesh screen means that you can transport anything from a dog or cat to even a snake or gerbils if you need to. The design of the Tavo Maeve pet carrier allows it to be a better more universal solution than a standard crate. Most similarly sized crates have larger holes that would allow them only to be used for larger pets.
The mesh screen design can make the Tavo Maeve a one pet carrier solution. If you have a lizard and a cat as a pet for example and you don’t need to transport them anywhere at the same time you could just buy this single product.
The Tavo Maeve and Roscoe Pet Protection System comes in a selection of sizes depending on how much space you need for your pet. The Tavo Roscoe pet stroller frame itself comes in only one size. The single pet stroller frame is designed to accommodate all of the available sizes of the Maeve pet carrier itself.
The Tavo Maeve pet carrier currently comes in three sizes:
Small Flex- Designed for small pets up to 20 lbs. The dimensions of the Small Flex pet carrier open are L 22.5 x H 18.25 x W 16 in.
Medium Flex- Designed for pets up to 25 lbs. The dimensions of the Tavo Maeve Medium Flex pet carrier open are L 30.6 x H 21 x W 16 in.
Medium Rigid- Designed for medium sized pets up to 30 lbs. The dimensions of the Tavo Maeve Medium Rigid pet carrier open are L 30.6 x H 23.75 x W 18.4 in.
For safe use in a vehicle the Tavo Maeve pet carrier is designed for use with the Tavo Base. The single Base can be used for all sizes of Tavo pet carrier.
The Tavo Maeve pet carrier currently comes in a total of five colors. The color options are Onyx, Merle, Fawn, Brindle, and Sable. It is possible that more colors and even limited edition colors become available in the future. The Tavo Maeve Pet carrier has more color choices then the Tavo Roscoe stroller frame.
Although the Tavo pet carrier can be had in a total of five colors, the Roscoe stroller frame has the option to come in three colors. The frame of the stroller itself remains the same black color but the vegan leather trim pieces are what change colors.
The color options for the Tavo Roscoe stroller frame are Cognac, Chocolate, and Black. We are surprised Tavo went with the name “Black” for the black color and not something luxurious sounding like “Beluga” like they did with the colors Chocolate and Cognac. As you can see the color options for the Tavo Roscoe pet stroller frame do not correspond directly with the Maeve pet carrier colors. It seems like they designed the stroller colors to compliment the Maeve carrier instead of match it completely.
If you purchase the Tavo Maeve and Roscoe bundle you save $100 vs buying them seperately but you do not have complete flexibility when it comes to mixing and matching colors. The pre-selected colors the Tavo bundle comes in are Onyx/Cognac, Merle/Cognac, Fawn/Chocolate, Brindle/Black, and Sable/Cognac.
You are somewhat limited when choosing the bundle since there is only one option that has a black frame. If you want a black pet stroller frame that is not paired with a Brindle carrier you have to fork over the additional $100 and purchase them a la carte.

Although there are a lot of high end children’s products that have the features and style of the Tavo Maeve and Roscoe, it doesn’t compare directly to any specific pet products currently on the market.

The cheapest Tavo Maeve pet carrier is the Small Flex and costs a healthy $700.

The Tavo Roscoe Stroller Frame is required to use the Tavo Maeve as a stroller. The Roscoe currently costs $400 for all color variants. In order to use the Tavo System as a pet stroller you can purchase the Roscoe frame as a bundle at the same time as the Maeve or seperately. Buying the Tavo Maeve pet carrier and Roscoe pet stroller frame as a bundle costs $1000 for the smallest carrier size and $1,100 for the two larger sizes. This is a $100-$200 savings over purchasing them individually.
The Tavo Pet Protection System which includes the Maeve pet carrier, Roscoe pet stroller frame, and the vehicle base is pricey. The reason they come at such a high cost is because they feature state-of-the-art safety and comfort features derived from the Nuna brand’s technology.
