Let’s take a look at the Mockingbird Double vs. UPPAbaby Vista V2! The Vista V2 and Mockingbird Double are comparable strollers that start as single strollers and can convert to a double stroller. We’ll do an in-depth comparison of the Vista V2 vs. Mockingbird to see which one comes out on top.

The price of the UPPAbaby Vista V2 is $1,099.99. For this price, you get the following: single stroller (with 1 toddler seat), bassinet and rain cover for the seat.
The price of the Mockingbird “Single-to-Double” stroller is $450. For this price, you get the single stroller (with 1 toddler seat). Mockingbird also offers a bassinet/carriage, rain cover and insect cover, but these must be bought separately.
To convert the two strollers to a double stroller, you have to purchase the second seat separately. The second seat for the UPPAbaby Vista V2 costs $219.99. You also have to purchase additional adapters for the UPPAbaby Vista V2 for $24.99 to achieve certain configurations. The 2nd seat for the Mockingbird double stroller costs $145 and comes with all necessary adapters.
So to buy these two strollers in the double seat configuration, which is what most people are probably interested in, will cost in total:

UPPAbaby Vista V2 double: $1,344.97
Winner: Mockingbird Single-to-Double The Mockingbird double stroller is less than half the price of the UPPAbaby Vista.
The main/primary toddler seat of the UPPAbaby Vista V2 can accommodate a child up to 40″ tall.
The main/primary toddler seat of the Mockingbird Single-to-Double can accommodate a child up to 42″ tall.
Winner: Mockingbird Single-to-Double The primary seat of the Mockingbird double stroller can accommodate a taller child.
The toddler seat of the UPPAbaby Vista V2 can accommodate a child up to 50 pounds.
The toddler seat of the Mockingbird Single-to-Double can accommodate a child up to 45 pounds.
Winner: UPPAbaby Vista V2 The primary seat of the Vista V2 can hold a heavier child than the primary seat of the Mockingbird Single-to-Double stroller.
The second seat for the UPPAbaby Vista V2 (called the rumble seat) has a weight limit of 35 pounds. The maximum height limit for the second seat is 36″. Both the height limits and weight limits of the UPPAbaby Vista V2 2nd seat are less than the primary/main toddler seat.
The second seat for the Mockingbird is the same as their main seat. The second seat has a weight limit of 45 pounds and a height limit of 42″.
Winner: Mockingbird Single-to-Double The second seat of the Mockingbird double stroller can hold a heavier and taller child than the second seat of the UPPAbaby Vista V2.
Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Mockingbird double stroller can accommodate a third child with additional attachments.
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 has a stroller board you can purchase separately for $119 that allows a third child to ride along. This is called the PiggyBack Ride-Along Board. It snaps into place and allows a child to stand between the stroller and parent. It flips up when not in use.
Mockingbird does have their own Riding Board that can be purchased separately on their website for $95. The Mockingbird Riding Board allows your child the option to sit or stand while using it which is a great plus!

Winner: Mockingbird Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and the Mockingbird Single-to-Double stroller can accommodate a third child on a ride-along board (purchased separately). The Mockingbird offers the additional feature of having a seat on their riding board.

The Mockingbird double stroller comes in 4 colors: Black, Sky, Sea and Bloom. Keep an eye out for limited edition colors that come and go from time to time. All colors are the same price.
Winner: UPPAbaby Vista V2 The Vista has many more color options for its stroller than the Mockingbird.
Although Mockingbird only offers 4 color options, have the option to customize the stroller in ways you can’t with the UPPAbaby Vista V2.
With Mockingbird, you get to select the stroller color, the leather color and the pattern on the inside of the stroller canopy. The current options are as follows:

UPPAbaby does have different frame and leather colors, but you can’t mix and match with the stroller color.

Single Stroller
When the stroller is in the single-seat configuration:
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 weighs 26.6 pounds (with the canopy and arm bar).
The Mockingbird Single-to-Double weighs 26.5.
Double Stroller
When the stroller is in the double-seat configuration:
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 weighs 32.6 pounds.
The Mockingbird Single-to-Double weighs 35 pounds.
Winner: It Depends As a single stroller the Mockingbird weighs less, but when configured as a double stroller, the UPPAbaby Vista V2 weighs less.
Vista V2 vs. Mockingbird Single-to-Double dimensions:
The UPPAbaby Vista V2’s dimensions (with seat attached) are as follows:
Unfolded: 36″ L x 25.7″ W x 39.5″ H / Folded: 17.3″ L x 25.7″ W x 33.3″ H
The Mockingbird Single-to-Double’s dimensions (with seat attached) are as follows:

Winner: Tied We’ll call this one tied. Dimensions are very similar but the the Mockingbird double stroller is slightly more compact when unfolded and the Vista V2 is slightly more compact when folded.
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 and can be folded with the main seat attached, but it must be forward facing. The second seat (rumble seat) must be removed prior to folding. Many reputable sites claim you can fold the UPPAbaby Vista with the 2nd seat attached, but the instruction manual specifically states: “Stroller can fold with adapters attached, however, the RumbleSeat must be removed and the main seat must be facing forward and in an upright position.”
The Mockingbird Single-to-Double stroller can be folded with both the main seat and secondary seat attached. Both seats must be forward-facing.
In terms of how to fold the two strollers, the Vista V2 has a two-handed fold. There are two slide release triggers on the frame of the stroller that need to be pulled upward in order to collapse and fold the stroller. Before folding, you first must activate the brake, extend the handlebar to the highest position, recline the seat to the second highest position. The seat must also be forward facing.

The Mockingbird double stroller has a one-handed fold. There is a lever in the center of handlebar that needs squeezed in order to collapse and fold the stroller. Here are the step-by-step instructions for folding the Mockingbird Single-to-Double stroller:
Winner: Mockingbird Single-to-Double The Mockingbird double stroller is far easier to fold than the UPPAbaby Vista V2. Not can you fold the stroller with the second seat on, you can also fold the stroller one handed!

When configured as a single stroller, both strollers offer the same configurations:
There are some slight differences and nuisances between the two when it comes to the various double-seat configurations.
We found it very easy to find the configurations allowed for the Mockingbird Single-to-Double; however, this not information is not easily accessible for the UPPAbaby Vista V2. We did find a configuration guide for the EU, which we will assume is the same for the US.
Here are the various Mockingbird Single-to-Double configurations:
*Note that configuration #12 is possible with 2nd seat kits purchased as of June 2021. Prior to this, it was not possible to forward face the 2nd toddler seat when you also had car seat installed. This was a common complaint, but Mockingbird was able to make adjustments which now makes it possible to achieve this configuration. You may read/hear from other sources that this configuration is not possible, but this is simply outdated information.
Here are the various UPPAbaby Vista V2 configurations (for the EU version – we are assuming this is the same for the US):
Winner: Tied Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Mockingbird Single-to-Double have multiple configurations. Both are comparable.
Suspension
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 has all-wheel suspension.
The Mockingbird double stroller has a “dual frame and seat suspension”. This means it has suspension built into the frame as well as additional springs added to the seat.
Wheels
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 has polyurethane tires that are 8” in the front and 11.5” in the back.
The Mocking bird Single-to-Double stroller has polyurethane tires that are 7″ in the front and 9.5″ in the back.
Winner: The Jury is Still Out Based on the specs alone, it’s hard to tell which stroller would have the smoother ride. One one hand, the Vista V2 has larger wheels while the Mockingbird double stroller has multiple layers of suspension.
Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Mockingbird double stroller have a pretty standard size canopy (before any extensions). Both also have a covered mesh peek-a-boo window that also can help airflow.
Both the Vista V2 and Mockingbird canopies are expandable for extra coverage.
Above shows a side-by-side of the UPPAbaby Vista V2 vs. Mockingbird double stroller’s extended canopies – at first glance, it looks like the UPPAbaby Vista V2 has better coverage, but the Mockingbird seat is reclined. When you look at the canopy coverage of the Mockingbird when upright, it has similar coverage to the UPPAbaby Vista V2.
One thing to note is that Mockingbird also comes with a removable magnetic sunshade that can attach to the canopy to provide additional coverage.
Also important to us is that both canopies offer UPF 50 / UV Protection.
Winner: Tied We’ll call this one tied, though Mockingbird does have a slight edge if you factor in the removable magnetic sunshade. Personal preference will factor in to whether or not someone will find the magnetic sunshade useful.
Both the Vista V2 and the Mockingbird Single-to-Double have a 5-point, no-rethread harness.
Winner: Tied
The weight capacity of the UPPAbaby Vista V2 basket is 30 pounds while the Mockingbird Single-to-Double is 25 pounds.
Winner: UPPAbaby Vista V2 The Vista V2 basket can hold 5 pounds more than the Mockingbird doube stroller basket.
Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Mockingbird double stroller have a flip-flop friendly foot brake.
With the Mockingbird brake, you press the lever forward to engage the brake/lock and towards you to disengage/unlock.
With the UPPAbaby Vista V2, you press down to engage the brake and press down again to disengage/unlock. There is a visual indicator to let you know if the stroller is locked (red) or unlocked (green).
Winner: It Depends We are happy that both strollers offer a flip-flop friendly brake mechanism. They each go about it in a slightly different way and it comes down to personal preference for which brake is better.
Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Mockingbird double stroller have pivoting front wheels. However, both can also be locked in place which can help navigate rougher terrain more easily.
The major difference is that the UPPAbaby Vista V2 has a visual indicator to indicate if the wheels are locked or not. The visual indicator will be green if the wheels are in the unlocked position.
Winner: Tied Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Mockingbird Single-to-Double stroller have locking front wheels. This is an often overlooked feature that can make traveling over rough terrain easier. The UPPAbaby Vista V2 does have a slight advantage in that their locking front wheels have a visual indicator, whereas the Mockingbird does not.
Both the Vista V2 and Mockingbird double stroller have an adjustable handlebar. However, they are slightly different.
The Vista V2 has a telescopic handlebar that expands upwards from the frame. The height of the handlebar is 39.5″ at the lowest setting and 42.5″ at the tallest setting (from the ground). It can be adjusted with one-hand.
The Mockingbird double stroller has a rotating handlebar with 6 different positions. The height of the handlebar is 32″ at the lowest setting and 42″ at the tallest setting. It needs to be adjusted with two hands.
Winner: It Depends Both the Vista V2 and Mockingbird Single-to-Double have an adjustable handlebar. The Mockingbird has a larger range as well as a lower setting. However, the Vista V2 is half an inch taller at the tallest setting.
The Vista V2 has leather on the handlebar and bumper bar. There are no alternative vegan options.
Although the Mockingbird double stroller refers to having a leather handlebar and bumper bar on their website, they clarified on their Instagram that this is not real leather, rather an “animal-free leatherette”.
Winner: Mockingbird Single-to-Double Stroller The Mockingbird strollers are vegan while the UPPAbaby strollers are not.
Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Mockingbird double stroller are compatible with a nice selection of car seats. Both can also fit two car seats.

If you want to check out the UPPAbaby Vista V2 in person, you can head to a local store (Nordstrom, Buy Buy Baby, etc.) and check it out in person. If you buy the Vista V2 direct from the UPPAbaby website, if you want to return it, it must be within 30 days and be new and unused to qualify for a refund minus. There is also a $9.50 restocking fee. If you buy the UPPAbaby Vista V2 from a store, you’re subject to the store’s return policy, which will also likely require the product be unopened and/or in new condition.
The Mockingbird double stroller was originally only sold via their website (following a “direct-to-consumer” business model), but can now be found in select Target stores. If you buy direct from the Mockingbird website, they offer a 30-day free in home trial – simply order the stroller and return it for free within 30 days if you don’t like it.
Winner: Mockingbird Single-to-Double You can physically see and touch both the Vista V2 & Mockingbird Single-to-Double before you buy it. However, there is only so much you gauge from looking at strollers in a store. We love that Mockingbird gives you the ability to use and test the Mockingbird in your daily life for an extended period of time.
We confirmed that both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Mockingbird Single-to-Double stroller don’t contain flame retardants.

UPPAbaby offers a 3 year warranty on the Vista V2. Mockingbird offers a lifetime warranty on their strollers. Of course, with any warranty, make sure you read the fine print.
Winner: Mockingbird Single-to-Double The Mockingbird double stroller has a better warranty than the Vista V2.
Both the UPPAbaby Vista V2 and Mockingbird double stroller (called the “Single-to-Double“) are similar stroller systems, but each has its pros and cons.
Overall, our top pick is the Mockingbird double stroller.
For less than half the price, you are getting most of the same features as the Vista V2. For some things – like the weight/height capacity of the 2nd seat – Mockingbird actually offers more than the Vista V2!
UPPAbaby is a tried and true brand that is known for their quality. With Mockingbird being a newer brand, the verdict is still out on how well the Mockingbird strollers will wear over time compared to UPPAbaby. However, Mockingbird offers a great warranty to help alleviate some of these concerns.
However, with everything, each family has to consider the unique needs of their family when deciding between the Vista V2 vs. Mockingbird double stroller to find the best fit.
Can the Mockingbird single stroller be converted to a double?
No, Mockingbird’s original single stroller can not be converted to a double. The “Single-to-Double” stroller is an entirely new system.
