Meghan Markle’s Clean & Non-Toxic Beauty Products | Skincare & Makeup

If you’re like us and are enamored with all things Meghan Markle, you’re not alone!  We put together a list of Meghan Markle’s clean and non-toxic beauty products – everything from skincare to makeup.

Unfortunatley, we don’t know too much about Meghan’s favorite products.  It goes against the royal etiquette (or law – we’re not sure which) to promote specific products.  However, as we all know, Meghan was in the spotlight before ever joining the royal family, and she’s on record sharing some of her favorite products!  Since joining the royal family, there’s also been some reports on what products she’s using from both makeup artists and brands themselves.

Beauti Skincare Beauty Sleep Elixir

The Beauti Skincare Beauty Sleep Elixir is a nightly facial treatment that was allegedly used and loved by Meghan Markle while in the Palace (as well at Kate Middleton).

The founder of Beauti Skincare (a UK-based brand), told “Harper’s Bazaar: “Our source at the palace confirms that they gave Kate the Beauty Sleep Elixir, which is regularly replenished on her dressing table.  It was then reported that Kate was giving product to Meghan to use too, and now they both receive regular supplies“.

Though it’s reported that Meghan Markle uses this product before bed as a serum, it can also be worn under makeup to help even skin tone, used as an on the spot blemish treatment, or used to brighten the complexion of the skin (for those no makeup days).

The Beauti Skincare Beauty Sleep Elixir is a blend of 14 plant oils.  It’s free from parabens, sulphates, silicones and synthetic fragrances.  The Beauti Skincare Beauty Sleep Elixir is sold at Credo, meaning you can be rest assured that it’s clean and non-toxic.

Dr. Bronner's Body Wash

While Meghan Markle was filming “Suits”, she was interviewed and asked about her favorite body product.  Her response?  “I use Dr. Bronner’s Body Wash in Lavender. I love the smell and it lasts for such a long time. (The almond scent is quite nice too if you prefer something warm and sweet). I alternate between the two.

Meghan Markle was likely referring to Dr. Bronner’s signature product, the Pure-Castile Soap.  It’s an 18-in-1 product; it can be used on your body, for house cleaning, for dished, or laundry…the list goes on.  It’s a highly concentrated product that needs diluted.  To use it for your body wash, you just need a small squirt.

Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castile Soap comes in a variety of sizes and scents.  Meghan specifically called out Lavender and Almond as her favorite.

Dr. Bronner’s also has a line of Organic Sugar Soaps.  This comes in a pump-style bottle and is a 4-in-1 soap: hand soap, face wash, body soap and shampoo.  Meghan Markle could also have been referring to this product, but it currently doesn’t come in the scent Almond, which she mentioned.

We are a huge fan of Dr. Bronner’s products.  They are made using organic, fair trade and safe ingredients.  Dr. Bronner’s offers non-toxic products that we feel comfortable using in our home and on our children.  We also like the company’s values, ethics and sustainable practices.

Dr. Bronner’s also has a variety of other products you can check out in the Meghan Markle approved scents.  The Lavender scent is always found in the purple packaging, while Almond is in the emerald green packaging (not available in all products):

MAKEUP | Meghan Markle's Non-Toxic Makeup

RMS Luminizer

Meghan Markle Makeup Highlighter

The RMS Beauty Luminizer was a favorite of Meghan Markle’s make-up artist while filming “Suits”.  The RMS Lumizer is an ultra-sheer glowing highlighter that gives the skin a satin pearl finish.

Meghan’s make-up artist specifically used the shade “Magic“, which is described as a moon-lit champagne.  She said, “I also love to use the RMS Living Luminizer in Magic for a glowing, slightly wet look on the high points of the cheekbones and a few other places we want to glow. This highlighter is a favorite when working with Meghan because of its subtlety; it doesn’t go on looking like a disco ball, but it has just enough pop to make her skin glow in a natural, dewy way. I like to layer it on a few times to get the desired amount of radiance”.

The RMS Beauty Luminizer comes in a variety of shades and retails for $38.

RMS Beauty is a clean, non-toxic makeup brand.  We feel comfortable buying any product made by RMS Beauty due to their commitment to use only clean, safe and non-toxic ingredients.  RMS Beauty is sold at clean beauty stores with very strict standards such as  Credo and Goop.

The RMS Beauty Luminizer has a rating of 1 from EWG (Environmental Working Group).

MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder

Meghan Markle said the following about this finishing powder: “I  love the Make Up For Ever HD Powder. It lets your skin look shiny and fresh, but not greasy-shiny.

The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder is a transparent finishing powder that sets makeup as well as blurs the look of your skin.  The Make Up For Ever HD Powder retails for $36.

Based on our research, we find the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder to be safe and non-toxic.  We feel comfortable using these ingredients, but as always, each individual should make this decision for themselves.

The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Microfinishing Loose Powder is not rated on EWG (Environmental Working Group).  However, we looked at each ingredient and when compared to similar products with the same ingredients, think the Make Up Forever HD Powder would get an EWG rating of 2 (possibly a 1, but definitely no higher than 2).  Here are all the ingredients, as well as their individual EWG ratings (with 1 being the best and 10 being the worst):

  • Silica: 1
  • Phenoxyethanol: 2-4
  • Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer: 1

Note:  For those looking to avoid the ingredient Phenoxyethanol, check out this similar product:  Ilia’s Soft Focus Finishing Powder (EWG Rating: 2).

Honest Beauty Magic Beauty Balm

The makeup artist who did Meghan Markle’s wedding makeup dished his tips and named dropped this product: the Honest Beauty Magic Balm.  Meghan Markle’s wedding day glow was in part due to this actual product.  Her wedding day makeup artists said after applying a powder blush and highlighter, he “tapped Honest Beauty Magic Balm onto her cheeks to give them a little bounce; since it’s glossy it really pumps up the highlight in photos“.

Honest Beauty is a beauty line from The Honest Company – a company founded by Jessica Alba.  They eliminate the worst offenders when it comes to ingredients.  Honest Beauty products are made without parabens, phthalates, paraffins, formaldehyde carriers, PEGs, steareth-n, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, petrolatum, mineral oil, chemical sunscreens, or synthetic fragrances.  We also love that this is an affordable brand that can be found at Target!

The Honest Beauty Magic Balm that Meghan Markle wore on her wedding day is rated a 2 by the EWG.

The Honest Beauty Magic Balm is a multi-purpose product.  In addition to how Meghan used it, it can be used alone as a highlighter, to tame flyaway hair, or to soften skin, cuticles or lips.
