Honest Review

We have the Everyone Kids 3-in-1 Soap in the scent Orange Squeeze.  Overall, we have been loving this soap! Here’s our thoughts:

Overall Concept

We love the concept behind the 3-in-1 soap.  The Everyone soap is a bubble bath, body wash and shampoo all in one. It helps make bath time with a toddler a breeze. We love the multi-functionality of the product and the fact we don’t have to reach for multiple products.  We also love the ease and convenience of the pump style bottles.

Bubbles

We found that we need at minimum 8 pumps of the soap to make “good” bubbles.  This needs to be done right under the faucet while the bath water is running. The bubbles do lose some of their staying power, but this isn’t a big issue for us, as our toddler doesn’t spend too long in the bath anyways.

If we use less than 8 pumps, the bubbles don’t build up as nicely and don’t seem to last.  We’ve also noticed outside factors can impact how well the bubbles form and last.  For instance, if we are washing off coconut oil or there’s coconut oil residue in the tub, the bubbles don’t seem to form as well.

To give you an idea, here’s a picture of the bubbles from the Everyone Kids 3-in-1 Soap after 8 pumps:

P.S.  That blue/yellow thing is a Green Toys bath toy – almost completely covered in bubbles!

Then here’s what the bubbles looked like after about 15 minutes:

Scent

The Orange Squeeze soap has a light citrus scent.  It reminds us of a creamsicle.  We know scent is such a personal preference, but we found that the scent isn’t overwhelming in the bath and dissipates off the body relatively quickly once out of the bath.

Good Ingredients

We feel comfortable with the ingredients in the Everyone Kids 3-in-1 soap.  We discuss the ingredients more in-depth below, but encourage you to come to your own conclusions on what you feel comfortable with for your family.

Despite feeling comfortable with the ingredients, we still don’t use this soap exclusively.  We feel it’s important to rotate products like this and encourage others to do the same if possible.

It’s also important to note that on the website they recommend that this soap be used for kids ages 2 and up.  We started using it before this age and never had any issues. However, it does contain some ingredients that are potential allergens, which we discuss more below.

Cruelty-Free

One reason we like this soap is because we like the company values.  Everyone is a family-owned, American company and a Certified B Corporation.  They operate in a zero-waste facility in California.  Additionally, their bottles are made with recycled plastic and can be recycled once you’re done using the product.  Aside from being cruelty-free, ingredients are sustainably-sourced.  We appreciate the company’s use of good ingredients and their full transparency when it comes to their ingredients. They disclose all their ingredients and don’t hide behind the word “fragrance” on the label like many other soap companies.

The Everyone Kids 3-in-1 Soaps (as well as every other product made by Everyone) are not tested on animals.  Their products are deemed to be cruelty-free and carry the Leaping Bunny certification.

Overall thoughts on the ingredients:  We were surprised to see some of the ingredients in the Everyone Kids 3-in-1 Soap have some higher ratings by EWG, given that the company claims that the product is EWG certified.  However, the ingredients that did receive higher ratings are naturally-derived and received the rating due to allergen concerns.   Because the ingredients are naturally-derived (as opposed to synthetic) and the concerns relate to allergens as opposed to toxicity, we are okay using this product.  As mentioned previously, each family needs to decide if this product is right for them or not.  If your little one does have reactions to certain allergens, this may not be the soap for you.  If your child has reactions to eating oranges, then this soap is definitely not for you.  We also agree with the company’s recommendation that this soap should not be used for infants.

FAQs

Is the Everyone Kids Soap "Tear-free"?

This soap is not labeled as “tear-free”, which is actually a good thing in our eyes, as the ingredients used to make shampoos tear-free are considered toxic.  Everyone explains it best: “We’ve specifically chosen not to label these products “tear-free” since the ingredients commonly used to make products tear-free are actually harmful to the eyes. These ingredients include anesthetizing agents such as synthetic alkyl polyethoxylates and/or alkyl phenol polyethoxylates. These alkyl ingredients temporarily numb the eye so that the sting of the shampoo is not felt, and prevents the eye from forming a tear to flush away irritants. These ingredients are typically used in pesticide products to anesthetize insects, and they can penetrate the skin and cause organ toxicity in people.
