Does Disney's Boardwalk Inn Resort have a Playground? - 2021 Full Review
If you’re wondering if Disney’s Boardwalk Inn Resort has a playground…the answer is YES!
In this article, we’ll tell you everything you ever wanted to know about the Boardwalk Inn playground. The playground is called the Luna Park Crazy Play Area or the Crazy House Playground. Our aim is to offer the most comprehensive review.
If you’re like us, whether or not a Disney resort has a playground can be a deciding factor in picking a Disney resort. We were surprised to learn that most Disney World resorts don’t have a playground! For the resorts that do have playgrounds, there is very limited information to be found anywhere about them before you arrive.
Where is the Playground at the Boardwalk Inn?
After arriving at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and parking, you can most easily access the playground through the main resort entrance. This is the same entrance where the guest check in is located. From there, the Luna Park Crazy Play Area is located to the left outside on the far end of the Luna Park Pool area.
The Luna Park Crazy Play Area (aka the Disney Boardwalk playground) is identified as letter “U” on the map below:
2021 Review of the Boardwalk Inn Playground
We visited Disney’s Boardwalk Inn playground in 2021. The playground is called the Luna Park Crazy Play Area on the map but the sign on the playground area itself calls it the Crazy House Playground. We took our 2 1/2 year old. However, once we got there, we saw that this playground is for children ages 5 through 12.
As you’ll see below, some parts of the playground seem like they would be for kids younger than 5, while some parts of the playground are definitely geared towards older kids.
Our 2 1/2 year old still got a lot of enjoyment out of the playground. However, use parental discretion on whether or not this playground is suitable for your child. There are some high, open ledges that could be very dangerous for young children. Our 2 1/2 year old knows to steer clear of these, but not all children this young may act the same way. Hence the age 5 recommendation on the sign.
Parental supervision is definitely required due to the specific location of the playground equipment and its proximity to a small shallow pool. The shallow kiddie pool is located next to the playground equipment but not gated or totally fenced in. Children playing on the playground will always have free access to the kiddie pool.
The proximity to the water made us feel uneasy and seems like quite an oversight, especially for Disney. (Another side note – this pool was not supervised by any lifeguard!).
