WINNER: CHICCO BRAVO The Chicco Bravo is significantly less expensive than the Mockingbird Single stroller.
Standard Accessories?
Each company includes different accessories standard with their strollers.
With the Chicco Bravo you get a Parent Tray with a two cup cupholder that includes a covered storage pocket. The Bravo also now includes a child tray with two cupholders.
WINNER: CHICCOBRAVO Out of the box the Bravo stroller comes with more standard equipment than the Mockingbird Single.
Available Accessories?
Chicco has the following accessories available to purchase separately for the standard Bravo:
Chicco doesn’t really offer any additional accessories on their website for the Bravo stroller. The Bravo is pretty much sold as is. In order to add accessories like rain covers, riding boards etc, you will have to go to the aftermarket like Amazon to find items that will fit the Bravo stroller.
The closest thing to Chicco Bravo accessories offered are replacement wheels and tires. The optional wheel and tire package offered by Chicco is to replace the standard EVA foam tires. The optional tires are made of rubber and are designed to last longer than the foam and change the ride and handling characteristics of the stroller. It is important to note that the optional rubber wheel and tire package is NOT compatible with Bravo stroller models 2020 and newer. Currently there is no wheel or tire upgrade option for the new (2020+) Bravo.
Mockingbird has the followingaccessories available to purchase separately for their stroller:
Infant Seat Insert ($35)
Bassinet ($140)
Car Seat Adapters (more on that later)
Seat Liner ($25)
Parent Organizer
Rain Cover
Foot Muff ($60)
Hand Muff
Mosquito Net
Cup Holder
Snack Tray
Riding Board ($95)
Bassinet Stand ($90)
Mockingbird clearly has more available accessories to purchase directly from them that are designed and tested specifically for Mockingbird strollers. Chicco comes standard with some things that would be add on accessories for Mockingbird strollers like parent cupholders. Even if you include the standard items on the Chicco Bravo, Mockingbird still offers far more accessories.
WINNER: MOCKINGBIRD Mockingbird simply offers far more available stroller accessories than Chicco does.
More Color Options
The Chicco Bravo is currently available in a single color. Black. We wish the standard Chicco Bravo had at least a few additional colors to choose from.
The Mockingbird Single stroller comes in 5 colors: Black, Sky, Bloom, Sage and Sea. All colors are available at no extra cost. Not only can you choose the exterior color but Mockingbird also allows you to customize the interior pattern of the canopy. You can choose between “Windowpane” and “Watercolor Drops” with any exterior canopy color selection. The customization does not even end there! Mockingbird also has two different frame/leather combinations, “Silver with Penny Leather” and “Silver with Black Leather”.
WINNER: MOCKINGBIRD The Mockingbird Single stroller comes in a variety of colors that allows you to stand out a little bit in a sea of mostly black strollers.
Weighs Less?
The Chicco Bravo weighs in at a total of 24.9 lbs in its heaviest toddler ready form. Chicco list various other weights depending on configuration on their website:
The Mockingbird Single stroller weighs 26 lbs out of the box.
WINNER: CHICCO BRAVO The Chicco Bravo weighs slightly less than the Mockingbird Single. As we all know a couple pounds might not seem like a lot but your back and knees can tell the difference when loading the stroller into the trunk of a car or lugging it around places.
WINNER: CHICCO BRAVO In its most compact form the Chicco Bravo edges out the Mockingbird by being just a bit more compact. This can be important if trunk space is an issue and can be make or break for some with small or oddly designed trunks.
Easier to Fold?
Folding the Chicco Bravo is designed to be easy. The company even refers to the stroller as a “Quick-Fold Stroller”. The stroller can be folded into a self standing position with one hand by pulling a lever located under the seat pad. This can be achieved with a single motion.
The Mockingbird Single also has a one-handed fold. There is a lever in the center of handlebar that needs squeezed in order to collapse and fold the stroller. The stroller then begins to fold into a standing position and fully folds with another motion to push it until completely folds and locks. There is a short video demonstrating how to fold the stroller on the Mockingbird website.
WINNER: CHICCO BRAVO Even though both strollers can be folded with one hand, the Chicco Bravo becomes completely folded with a single motion of that one hand. That makes the Bravo just slightly easier to fold.
Stands When Folded?
Both the Chicco Bravo and the Mockingbird Single stroller stand when folded.
One key difference is how they stand once folded. The Bravo stroller is able to stand without the handle bar used to push the stroller touching the ground. The Mockingbird uses the handlebar as support on the ground to allow the stroller to stand. This difference doesn’t really matter if you aren’t concerned with the push bar touching the potentially dirty floor and using it again to push the stroller.
WINNER: TIED Both strollers technically stand when folded but they stand in different ways. Some may see the way the Bravo stands as a plus and others may not.
Better Wheels & Tires?
The Bravo comes standard with EVA foam tires that do not go flat since they are solid foam. Older models of the Bravo are compatible with rubber tires available for sale on the Chicco website.
The Mockingbird has never-flat polyurethane tires as the only option.
The front wheels of the Chicco Bravo are 7.5″ and the back wheels are 10.3″.
The front wheels of the Mockingbird Single are 6.5″ and the back wheels are 9.5″.
WINNER: CHICCO BRAVO Larger wheel diameter can generally help smoothness and ride quality over various surfaces like cracks or gaps in pavement.
Better Suspension?
Chicco sells the Bravo stroller with standard all wheel suspension.
The Mockingbird Single strollercomes standard with what Mockingbird describes as “dual frame and seat suspension” that work together for a smooth and stable ride.
WINNER: TIED We see the differences between the all wheel suspension of the Bravo and the multiple layers of suspension the Mockingbird Single has as a matter of personal preference. One is not inherently better than the other. Just like in a car, the benefits can be more about suspension tuning than suspension type.
Better Canopy?
Both the Chicco Bravo and Mockingbird Single stroller have a pretty standard size canopy (before any extensions). Both also have two covered mesh peek-a-boo windows that also can help airflow.
One thing to note is that Mockingbird also comes with a removable magnetic sunshade that can attach to the canopy to provide additional coverage.
Chicco does not come with or offer any official canopy extension or additional shade. To add anything of the sort to the Bravo you will have to go to the aftermarket for a solution.
WINNER: MOCKINGBIRD Not only does Mockingbird offer extra coverage for their canopy they even include it with the stroller itself! Chicco offers no solution in this regard.
Reversible Seat?
Reversible seats can be a make or break feature for some caregivers. Some children may even prefer facing the person pushing them at times. The Chicco Bravo does not offer the option to reverse the direction the toddler seat faces. The Bravo can only be configured facing in the direction of travel. This seems to be a result of the way the stroller is engineered to fold so quickly and easily.
The Mockingbird Single stroller does have the ability to easily change the direction the toddler seat faces.
WINNER: MOCKINGBIRD This one is pretty cut and dry. The Mockingbird is the only stroller of the two that allows you to reverse the position of the stroller seat. We think that even if you don’t plan on using this feature, it is still nice to have as an option.
Better Harness?
Both the Chicco Bravo and Mockingbird have adjustable 5 point harnesses. The Mockingbird offers the added ability to not have to rethread the harness straps through the holes when adjusting shoulder height.
To adjust the Bravo shoulder straps you must rethread the shoulder straps through the holes which can be frustrating and time consuming for some.
WINNER: MOCKINGBIRD Having a no rethread harness may not be as big of a deal in a stroller as it is with a car seat, but it is still a nice feature to have. The Mockingbird Single offers a no rethread harness while the Chicco Bravo does not.
Adjustable Handlebar?
Both the Chicco Bravo and the Mockingbird Single stroller offer adjustable handlebars to accommodate users of different heights. Note that the handlebars are not telescoping and adjust by rotating the handle and clicking it into predetermined locking positions.
WINNER: TIED The strollers offer the same type of handlebar adjustability.
Better Basket?
Both the Chicco Bravo and Mockingbird Single stroller have a generously sized basket under the seat.
The Bravo basket has a maximum weight limit of 10 lbs.
The weight limit of the Mockingbird Single stroller basket is 25 lbs.
WINNER: MOCKINGBIRD The Mockingbird single basket can carry more than twice the weight of the Chicco Bravo basket. This can be a deciding factor for some of us who wind up stuffing as much stuff as they can under the stroller so they don’t have to carry it.

WINNER: MOCKINGBIRD The Mockingbird Single stroller is designed to be compatible with a long list of car seats. This is mostly due to the fact that Mockingbird does not currently make their own car seat. Chicco makes car seats as well as strollers and would rather you buy theirs instead of a competitors.
Better Warranty?
Chicco offers a 1 year warranty on the Bravo stroller.
Mockingbird offers a lifetime warranty on their strollers. Of course, with any warranty, make sure you read the fine print.
WINNER: MOCKINGBIRD The Mockingbird Single has a much better warranty than the Chicco Bravo. A one year warranty does not give us as much confidence in the longevity or durability of the Chicco Bravo.
Vegan?
Both the Chicco Bravo and the Mockingbird Single stroller use animal free materials.
Although the Mockingbird stroller refers to having a leather handlebar and bumper bar on their website, they clarified on their Instagram that this is not real leather, rather an “animal-free leatherette”.
WINNER: TIED Both strollers use animal free materials in their construction.
No Flame Retardants?
We are happy to report that both the Chicco Bravo and Mockingbird Single stroller are free of chemical flame retardants!
From the Chicco website: “Since the regulatory flammability standard only applies to car seats, all other Chicco products are free of flame retardant chemicals.”
WINNER: TIED
Free From Other Toxic Chemicals?
We worry about other toxic chemicals in our products, especially children’s products.
Both the UPPAbabyCruz V2 and Mockingbird Single stroller are compliant with the most recent ASTM and JPMA standards.
WINNER: TIED
Chicco Bravo vs. Mockingbird Single | The Verdict
The Chicco Bravo and Mockingbird Single strollersare very competitive in many ways that are important to parents. The strollers are both vegan and chemical flame retardant free, offer quick folding and a similar profile. They both offer great value for the money but in different ways. The Bravo is significantly less expensive but can be seen as a more streamlined or basic overall stroller. The Mockingbird punches above its weight against the much more expensive fully featured “luxury” strollers. Mockingbird does this by offering more styles and configurations as well as a large number of optional accessories.
Mockingbird Single: In the end we think this comparison comes down to personal preference. If you want the look and feel of a luxury stroller that you will use daily in all weather conditions with accessories then the Mockingbird Single is for you.
Chicco Bravo: If all you need is a simple easy to use stroller that does the job of being a great basic stroller without spending a lot of money, the standard Bravo may be your best fit.
