Many parents love the convenience of having a travel system – where you can click the infant car seat into the stroller. However, it can be a bit confusing figuring out which car seat is compatible with which stroller.
One of the most popular strollers has been the UPPAbaby Vista. In 2020, the Vista got a pretty significant upgrade, including a name change. Now called the UPPAbaby Vista V2, this stroller is likely going to be just as popular (if not more) than its predecessor.
Let’s go over all the car seats that are compatible with the Vista V2! There’s tons of options!

If you plan on using the car seat when the UPPAbaby Vista V2 is configured as a double, you will need to purchase upper or lower adapters (depending on which position you want to use the car seat).
You will also need a special car seat adapter if you plan on using any brand of car seat other than UPPAbaby. UPPAbaby makes one infant car seat called the Mesa.
In most cases, the use of the car seat adapter won’t make the stroller more difficult to use. In most cases, you can fold down the stroller without having to remove the car seat adapters.
There is only one infant car seat compatible with the UPPAbaby Vista V2 without the use of adapters: the UPPAbaby Mesa.
The Mesa is made by the same makers of the Vista V2 (UPPAbaby), which is why this combination is so seamless. For this reason, many people with the Vista V2 opt to also get the Mesa infant seat.
There are multiple other car seats compatible with the UPPAbaby Vista V2 (other than the Mesa), but they will require the use of adapters, which must be purchased separately. Let’s go over all the car seats and the required adapters:

Before deciding if the UPPAbaby Vista V2 is for you based on car seat compatibility, you should also consider the various configurations that can accommodate a car seat. UPPAbaby doesn’t make it easy to find information regarding the various stroller configurations. We did find the “Expansion Guide” below showing various configurations that the UPPAbaby Vista V2 can accommodate; however it’s geared to the European Union market instead of the United States.
Despite the image above, UPPAbaby states on their website (in the Mesa FAQ section) that “the MESA can be used parent-facing or forward-facing on all three strollers” (including the Vista V2).
The car seats can be used when the stroller is configured as a single stroller. The car seats can also be used on either the upper or lower part of the stroller when configured as a double.
The UPPAbaby Vista V2 can also accommodate two car seats (for twins!).
