There is no shortage of expensive, luxury items for adults – ranging from cars to jewelry to homegoods. But “luxury” isn’t usually what most people think of when they think of kid’s toys. However, there is a small niche of really expensive, over-the-top luxury toys. Penelope and Patrick the Pup have been sold in various sizes and loved by children around the world for generations. They can be purchased in different sizes including this rather large (52”L X 23”W X 41”H) one that can double as a big pillow. Priced at $500, it is not the cheapest stuffed animal in the world but it is an iconic character from an iconic toy store.
If you want to give your child nothing but the best even when it comes to stuffed bears, then this is the one for you. Steiff calls themselves the “only luxury toy brand in the marketplace today.” They have been crafting toys by hand out of the finest quality materials since 1880. Steiff also claim to be the inventors of the Teddy bear to begin with. The German ultra premium toy company partnered with Tiffany & Co. to make this absolutely luxurious bear complete with mohair fur and a sterling silver heart tag. The bear sits at a perfectly sized 16” and is sure to last for many many years of play. Handcrafted European luxury doesn’t come cheap even in toy form. This bear will set you back $700.
What would go better with the Steiff bear than something to carry it around in? This Gucci backpack in Supreme canvas is made in Italy and designed for children. They will love the rainbow colors and star prints on the outside and the Gucci red interior lining adds so much to the stylish design. There may be better ways to teach your young one about the value of a dollar and saving money than spending $1,000 on this piggy bank but at minimum it can also double as a piece of art. The bank is made of sterling silver and marked with a Tiffany blue stripe down the side. If there is one thing to be said about this bank, it’s that Tiffany & Co. products like this still hold high values over time. It could passed down through generations or sold when your child has no more use for it.
Kids have enjoyed playing in playhouses forever and these are no exception. La Petite Maison makes what are probably the highest quality handmade realistic playhouses in the world. Many features are made in the same way items in a real house are, but just designed for smaller people to use. The prices do seem to be justified when looking at the quality and craftsmanship of every detail in these playhouses.
When it comes to ride on cars there are nearly as many variants as actual full size cars. Many of these ride on cars are mass produced and made of plastic. That’s not the case with the truly luxurious Bentley Blower ride on car sold by one of the world’s premium ultra luxury car manufacturers, Bentley Motors. The ride on is modeled after the famous LeMans winning Blower Bentley of the 1920’s. The body is handcrafted using solid tulip wood and high gloss British Racing Green paint. The highest level of craftsmanship extends down to the hand stitched leather wrapped steering wheel and machined aluminum wheels. When the car is not in use, it can be stored in the provided wooden garage and car cover. Everything mentioned is included for £3,200.00 (approx. 4,100 USD).
